Enraged at this betrayal, Morgaine calls upon the Ladys magic, which results in the mysterious “disappearance” of the holy chalice, prompting the companions of the Round Table to embark on a month quest to find it.
Events spiral out of control when Lancelet returns, resumes his adulterous relationship with Gwenhwyfar, and is finally exposed. Although I love Davina Porter as narrator, because I couldn’t skim over parts like I must have done when I read this book, it seemed a chore for me to finish this. I was completely over Gwenhwyfar and her whining.
There seemed to be so much repeating and dragged out scenes. Overall, I love the storyline about the tale of King Arthur and his sister Morgaine. And I loved how the quest for the holy grail was interwov I think this is the first time I’ve ever liked the print book more than the audio.

The narrative brumss beautifully constructed and, as I studied the origins of Arthurian legend and I am acquainted with the Divine Feminine concepts, I was curious to see how Marion Zimmer Bradley would end this. I loved her vision and the retelling of this legend and story, remembering the presence of the Goddess in Arthurian legend which is so important and is so often forgotten.
I can say I loved pretty much everything in this book: There are books avalno which we immerse ourselves in and this one, as well as the others in the series, was the case for me.
The magic, brums Arthurian story and characters, the focus on women and pagan beliefs, the Mists of Avalon series completely nailed it. The Arthurian myth fascinates me and I couldn’t recommend this more to aa who is curious about it or for those who want to have a different perspective on it.
Just finished this book and series and I enjoyed it a lot.

Loved the way the entire series was developed and was very interesting to afalon the evolution of Morgaine from the first book until the last page of this book and her relationship with other faiths. Honestly it’s extremely interesting story over-all. The Ending leaves me a kind of opaque equivocalness, no distinction. It’s epic and memorable.
