Fix for AMD drivers on Windows 10 self. Hey guys I haven’t played D3 in a while and had completely forgot about the AMD drivers issue for those who don’t know you have to use older drivers otherwise you will crash in certain zones.
Fix for AMD drivers on Windows 10 : Diablo
It was easy to forget since I stopped updating the drivers when I was using Windows 7. But then I choose to upgrade to Windows 10 which in turn made me update my drivers, with ati3duag.dol way to go back.
Luckily some wizard on the bnet forums posted a solution that worked for me, that I figured I should post here so people can find it. Couldn’t find the source but it is posted multiple times here. Here is the text:. Just to add this is an unofficial fix.
While I haven’t seen anything wrong with it and people have been using it for months, use at your own risk. But after trying everything this is the only thing that worked for me.
Windows 10 blue screen with HD | Community
I think this is the original source for this method http: I’ve not had a single problem with AMDs latest drivers for my x, perhaps its because I play borderless windowed mode? Borderless window didn’t change anything for me.
But it is only specific zones that are bugged. Desolate Sands and Blood Marsh are the two biggest ones. I haven’t either, and I’m using the most recent or at least a very recent driver for my card X. I’ve had 0 crashes in diablo in both borderless and fullscreen. I would have said the exact same thing had I not updated.
Never had a single problem before now. Also remember it’s specific zones that cause problems. I played co-op and cleared all bounties. No hickups, no slowdowns So unless it only happens on newer cards I must be one of the lucky ones. Is this legit, e.
I really don’t want to play with strange file sources.
People have been using this method for a couple of months now. No one has reported any problems and none of my virus or malware stuff has gone off. You can’t get it from AMD or Microsoft ati3duag.dlp it is unofficial.
But apparently these dlls are extracted from an old AMD driver. It’s not bannable because as far as I understand it doesn’t modify anything with D3. It changes your video drivers when using D3 to an older version of drivers. Here is the origional source for this method: This isn’t modifying the base D3 files, it’s just making the game use the old video drivers for D3 only.
Yes, you can download the old drivers from AMD, but that will make your entire system use the old drivers, which can cause some major issues ati3duagdll other programs. Also to add to what Upboat is saying, there are many posts both on bnet and the source link and no one has found anything malicious. My friend has a problem, that when the game loads he gets a black screen. It start happening after he updated the AMD drivers. I can see the character moving but he sees the loading screen.
Anyone with a solution? I have been experiencing this since upgrading to windows 10 I found this ati3xuag.dll yesterday and tried it. I haven’t really played since so unsure of a perma-fix or not but the game didnt crash when I started it up or anything.
I don’t have crashes or anything, but what I do have is horrible performance. Sometimes the FPS dips down to 30, and most of the times I have small freeze frames for a fraction of a second. Sadly, this doesn’t work for me. My game still does the same thing, shows the splash screen and immediately crashes. My game has been perfectly fine since vanilla bluesxreen but yesterday when updating to 2.
So that’s something that I’d like to put out there. Computer wouldn’t start either, had to use Startup Repair, which thankfully rolled back to when I didn’t have the two.
I had this problem and its ridiculous we have to roll back our drivers. What I at3iduag.dll up doing is playing in a window. That works for me until the drivers get fixed. So if you have problems down the road try this out. This fix also allows you to update your drivers so you don’t have screw up games that require the latest drivers just for D3.
I’ll wait til blizzard or amd come up with a solution. I don’t trust third party solutions, even though it may fix the problem.
This will help it get fixed faster. I hate to be that guy, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. This issue has been reported since at least February.
All Blizzard has ever said is to roll back your drivers, there hasn’t been anything from them as far as fixing it. Ati3daug.dll is the best solution since it rolls back your drivers just for D3.
There has been nothing negative to come from this solution and I’ve seen posts as early as June of people fixing it this way. They are claiming it as an AMD issue.
They won’t work on an update for earlier than series bluescgeen. So if you’re not willing to roll back your drivers or use this kind of fix, you’re only solution is to get a new card. I’m on a HDmost current beta drivers and still having the issue. The only thing that fixed it was OP’s fix. Onfixed the issue. Blizz’s bluezcreen response too.

I never had D3 crash on me with my ATi card. Files are modified files in the D3 folder, violates the ToS. File source is legit. What are you basing this on? Anyone else experiencing this? As well as updating DirectX?
Ati3duag.dlll had to do the OP’s trick to get it to work. Upgrade to the new amd beta drivers. Which aren’t so new anymore.
More games at made ati3fuag.dll nvidia than AMD.
