From a functional perspective, the art was dark with little contrast in the imagery making it difficult for me to ls everything going on in the frames.

It was especially difficult for me to see the differences in the characters with similar helms, long-hair, and drab-colored clothing.

Instead of enjoying a well-laid out comic, I was squinty-eyed trying to figure out details of which characters were in the frame and what they were doing.
By their nature, graphic novels are shorter and less verbose than their novel counterparts, conveying important plot points and character arcs in the art. This didn’t seem to happen. I didn’t experience Tanis’ dl nature, Caramon’s exuberant naivete, or Tika’s brazen courage. They hinted a few times at Sturm’s staunch sense of honor and Raistlin’s foreboding way of despising his friends, but it didn’t come close to giving me the sense of the characters.
Muy muy entretenido con una lectura muy ligera. Some people claimed to have been bothered by the art style, but I actually loved it. Generally I stay away from graphic novels because I feel like they aren’t faithful to the dw or how I imagine the characters, but I found this to be a stellar adaptation– certainly a worthy substitute for the good movie we dragonnlance got.

I subtracted a star as it seems that one of Raistlin’s spells had a mishap, making him a brunette for multiple panels at random, as well as changing the color of Fistandantilus’s spellbook– which was even described by Raistlin himself as night-blue and silver, but was red and gold when Bupu found it.
Even retorho, I sincerely appreciate the amount of detail shown elsewhere, particularly in the background where Caramon was always fretting over Raistlin like the giant mother hen he is. Yes, I am a shameless fangirl of the brothers Majere. I have no regrets.
The story was exactly as expected having read the book series several times but I really wasn’t a fan of the artwork. In many frames, the characters had very pinched faces which just looked odd and they coloured some things incorrectly Fistandantalus’ spell book is midnight blue – they talk about it a few pages later and then colour it maroon which is a lack of attention to detail that really irks me.

But again, the story is great and I would definitely recommend it to any fans of the Dragonlance series. I loved the original series of novels. And they stayed with me a long time. The comic book adaptation is Everything is there, it’s just not terribly compelling.
Maybe the books wouldn’t be very compelling anymore either.
The biggest problem for me was dragolnance artwork. Where, at times, I recoiled from the page in horror at how ghastly some of the main characters looked. It’s a great comic book, and it goes through retogno story greatly. But the things that make you want rragonlance love the characters and makes their depiction of the war real aren’t in there, and that makes it feel a little hallow. However, I love that this book exists, and I hope that more people are willing to read the comic.
