This book focuses almost entirely on conflict theory and ironically presents the never-once-employed Karl Marx as an exemplar theorist in that regard. Conflict theory is about competition. How can that be exemplified by a man who’s too lazy to compete?
Might make good toilet paper. If your professor is making you read this book for a class, my condolences to you. I loved this book. It was a rental. However, I did enjoy reading it. It was easy to understand and I did learn valuable information. Greta way to save money on text books. Poor information, that was quickly outdated. The books binding itself from manufacturer was sub-par.
Not the best textbook I had to use my education funds on. Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. This was a required book for my Sociology class.
It’s a very well written book that put information in an interesting way. I rarely got bored reading this book for hours. Maybe it’s the topic, but I found this book to be very visually pleasing as well. It says that it comes with the connect plus access card, that was the whole point of me ordering this and it only came with a textbook really disappointed. However it did ship fast.

Huge slice down the back cover, thankfully only the back cover. Badly warped as well. I dont know how this was allowed to be rented out, its in really rough shape. This is an easy read. The writers explain things in a way that almost anyone can relate to and understand. It all makes sense and if there is an issue, the writers use enough real life data and examples to make it clear. I bought the digital copy. This is the way to go.
